The auditory system anatomy and physiology

The auditory system is divided into the peripheral and the central auditory system. The peripheral auditory system consists of the outer, the middle, the inner ear and the auditory nerve; and the central auditory system consists of the auditory pathways in the brainstem and the auditory cortex.
